Analyzing Temporal Trends of Urban Evaporation Using Generalized Additive Models

چکیده
This study aimed to gain new insights into urban hydrological balance (in particular, the evaporation from paved surfaces). Hourly data were obtained simultaneously two high-resolution weighable lysimeters. These lysimeters are covered in pavement sealing types commonly used for sidewalks Berlin, namely cobble-stones and concrete slabs. A paired experiment field conditions is designed determine mechanism by which these of soil affect rate under same climatic conditions. generalized additive model (GAM) applied explain how interact with evaluate variation according type. Moreover, taking advantage fact that experimental design paired, fits a GAM where response variable difference between its explanatory variables As result, conditions, more prone increasing than slabs when precipitation accumulated over 10 h, solar radiation, wind speed increases. On other hand, inclined increase cobblestones relative humidity represents robust modeling approach comparing different order understand they alter balance.

Generalized Additive Models with Spatio-temporal Data
Generalized additive models (GAMs) have been widely used. While the procedure for fitting a generalized additive model to independent data has been well established, not as much work has been done when the data are correlated. The currently available methods are not completely satisfactory in practice. A new approach is proposed to fit generalized additive models with spatio-temporal data via t...
متن کاملFunctional Generalized Additive Models.
We introduce the functional generalized additive model (FGAM), a novel regression model for association studies between a scalar response and a functional predictor. We model the link-transformed mean response as the integral with respect to t of F{X(t), t} where F(·,·) is an unknown regression function and X(t) is a functional covariate. Rather than having an additive model in a finite number ...

متن کاملAnalyzing Urban Sprawl Spatial Fragmentation Using Multi-temporal Satellite Images
The landscape pattern of Daqing City, China has undergone a significant change during the last two decades as a result of rapid urbanization. A quantitative analysis describing the spatial fragmentation caused by urban sprawl from satellite images was presented on three dates: 1979, 1990, and 2000. Five landscape indices with supplementary ecological meanings were chosen to facilitate our exami...
متن کاملMarkov-switching generalized additive models
We consider Markov-switching regression models, i.e. models for time series regression analyses where the functional relationship between covariates and response is subject to regime switching controlled by an unobservable Markov chain. Building on the powerful hidden Markov model machinery and the methods for penalized B-splines routinely used in regression analyses, we develop a framework for...
